One day after apologizing to Alaska governor Sarah Palin about a controversial joke he made on his late-night program, comedian David Letterman has so far resisted the urge to make a joke about Gov Palin's desire for a massive pipeline, a source close to Mr. Letterman revealed today.

Ever since Governor Palin argued strongly last week in favor of the gas pipeline, which would be many miles in length, Mr. Letterman has been "strongly tempted" to make a wisecrack about the situation, the source said.

"Here you have the words 'Sarah Palin' and 'massive pipeline' in the same sentence," the source said. ...
